About us
In the Know has been developed by Family Planning Australia, a leading provider of sexual and reproductive health services.
Family Planning Australia
Founded in 1926, we are experts on sexual and reproductive health and rights and provide clinical services and health information to people throughout New South Wales (NSW), Australia.Â
Family Planning Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation responsible to a voluntary board of directors and we rely on government funding, donations and self-generated income to provide our services. We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Our funding comes from the Australian federal government, NSWÂ state government, and Local Health Districts and grants from other donors.Â

Development of our resources, training and research
In the Know features Family Planning Australia’s resources, training and research publications. All of these materials have been developed using best practice strategies to ensure they are up to date, factual and reflect current evidence and a rights-based, inclusive approach.  Materials developed for particular audiences have been developed in consultation with representatives of those groups to ensure they are relevant and address their information and education priorities.  Many materials have been developed in partnership with stakeholders, including clinical experts, community representatives, partner organisations in Australia and the Pacific, universities or a combination of these.
