Course Details
This webinar is designed to enhance the capacity of educators teaching students in Years 7-12 to address challenges related to the use of technology in the context of sexuality and relationships. It covers key topics such as respectful relationships in the online space, pornography, sexting, and the safe use of dating apps.
This interactive webinar supports educators to be better equipped to offer support and guidance to young people about how to access help if issues arise from their use of technology in relation to sex and relationships.
Teaching about consent is a central element of the webinar. Discussions will cover best practice approaches towards education about these topics and focus on the health and safety of young people.
Key learning areas include:
- Technology usage related to relationships, sexuality, and communication among young people
- Online respectful relationships, pornography, sexting, and safe usage of dating apps
- Consent for young people in online spaces ensuring boundaries, respect, and communication
- Tools to support students facing challenges related to technology and relationships
Course fees are funded by NSW Health and Local Health Districts, and will be delivered at no cost to eligible NSW participants.

Course structure
This 1.5-hour webinar is an interactive learning experience which includes opportunities for discussion and activities.
Eligibility/Prerequisite
Teachers working with students in years 7-12 or currently working towards a qualification to do so.
Participants need access to a PC or laptop with a working camera and microphone as this is an interactive course. Phones are not recommended.
Course cost
Course fees are funded by NSW Health and Local Health Districts, and will be delivered at no cost to eligible NSW participants.
